Dr. Land loves to meet new patients and their families every day to help them get on track towards a bright and beautiful smile. After all, he became an orthodontist because of how life-changing it was for him to get braces as a young adult! Dr. Land has a unique understanding for patients seeking orthodontic treatment and loves to help you attain your goals.

Originally from New Bern, North Carolina, Dr. Land and his wife Liz have owned a home in St. Croix since 2009. After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree from North Carolina State University in 1977, he enrolled at Emory University and was awarded a Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1982. He then spent two years specializing in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, receiving his orthodontic certificate from the University of Pennsylvania in 1984.

In 2000, Dr. Land was awarded the highest designation in orthodontics: a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. This distinction is held by only 20% of orthodontists in the United States. Dr. Land began sharing his expertise with the next generation of orthodontists in 2004 when he began teaching orthodontic resident students at the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry as an Adjunct Professor.

Dr. Land is happily married to his wife, Liz, of over 30 years. They have a son (Bradley), a daughter & son-in-law (Caroline & Corey), and a weiner dog named Chipper. They love and appreciate the beauty and easy-going pace of life in St. Croix!

Elizabeth - Liz for short - is Dr. Land's wife of over 30 years. She lives on the island and helps keeps the ship afloat. She manages the patient schedule, greets and welcomes new patients during exams, and ensures that all of the clerical tasks of the office are in order. Liz loves to meet her neighbors here in St. Croix and is especially excited about helping so many of you walk away with the smile of your dreams!

Cathy Mae Guevara

Dental Assistant

I was born and raised in the beautiful island of Trinidad & Tobago, moved to St. Croix in 1999 and became a Certified Dental Assistant in 2005. I joined the A-Team Land Orthodontics in 2017. I am a staff member of the American Association of Orthodontics and loving every second of my job. I am NC Board Certified DAII as a Clinical Orthodontic Assistant. I do the Intra oral Scans with Invisalign Itero. On my free time I enjoy a good book, hanging with my family and friends, traveling and beach days.

Dental Assistant

Michele started her career in Dentistry after completing her courses at the Bryman College in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1991.
She has enjoyed all aspects of the profession and found her passion in Orthodontics while living and working in Texas. As an American Board Certified Orthodontic assistant she appreciates all challenges that come her way.
Michele joined the LandOrthodontic team in October of 2021 and looks forward to every day she gets the opportunity to work with true professionals that know how to keep work fun!
In her spare time, Michele enjoys Scuba diving, soaking up the sun and taking care of her rescue dogs.
